The Donald Chronicles, #11 – Feb. 1, 2017

Today’s grab-bag of Trump atrocities.

Well … talk about showing your stripes!

Margaret McCarthy went to college with Trump’s nominee for the vacant seat on SCOTUS, Neil Gorsuch, and provides this yearbook quote: ”The illegal we do immediately, the unconstitutional takes a little longer’ – Henry Kissinger, August 29, 1967″. She writes: “I think the quote says it all.”  Thanks for this, Margaret!

and this today, from PoliticusUSA

“Trump Threatening Mexico With Military Invasion If They Don’t Deal With ‘Bad Hombres’”

From Trump’s phone conversation with the President of Mexico: “You aren’t doing enough to stop them,” Trump said. “I think your military is scared. Our military isn’t, so I just might send them down to take care of it … ”  And this is how the article ends: “If you’re keeping score at home, the Trump administration has now threatened to take action against two countries – Iran and Mexico. It’s been 12 days.”

The reference to Iran (above) stems from a missile test conducted today by Iran. This is from Reuters: “The White House put Iran “on notice” on Wednesday for test-firing a ballistic missile and said it was reviewing how to respond, taking an aggressive posture toward Tehran that could raise tensions in the region.”

And this last item: Today, Trump met with black members of his administration to commemorate Black History month. He began by saying: “Well, this is Black History Month, so this is our little breakfast, our little get-together.”  Do you find this statement incredibly condescending, as do I? I mention this here, because the video (below) leaves these introductory remarks out. Then, pay attention to Trump’s comments on Frederick Douglass, who, it appears, he believes to be alive today!
