New Mexico Tech Wilderness Encounter, Grand Canyon, N. Kaibab Trail, 1972

I led an early summer hike that descended from the South Rim and over to the vicinity of the Bright Angel CG. From there we followed a route straight up and into Phantom Creek, thus by-passing a troublesome and perhaps impassable chockstone at the head of the Phantom Gorge. We then returned to the N. Kaibab Trail and explored various side canyons to Bright Angel Creek, which included Ribbon Creek and the Transept. Here is my Flickr collection:
