Peru, the Rio Marañon. Day 23, 10/21/15

Today we come to the most controversial of the numerous proposed damsites, Chadin II, along with Linlin, our favorite Class IV rapid of the trip.

We enter a gorge and run this small rapid immediately after leaving camp

The guy in the yellow shirt yelled: "Oranges!" at us, and ran off, to come back in a moment with oranges. Just out of the goodness of his heart.

Linlin is a classic Class IV rapid, with a large hole occupying the middle of the rapid. You have to miss it to the right. In the photo below, we are bearing down on the hole.
