Today’s Western Tanager and Western Bluebird juvenile, May 22, 2015

The re-stocked suet feeder has brought the birds back – in this case, the male Western Tanager. The juvenile Western Bluebird was a surprise, since I hadn’t noticed nesting Bluebird adults in the area. We’re having a wet and cool El Nino spring, and the river is rising. Alongside the Rio Grande, in Embudo, NM.
