Birding – Rancho Santa Susana Park, Simi Valley, CA, Dec. 2014

An earlier blog concerned birding at the Arroyo Simi, in Simi Valley, CA. Right next to the arroyo is a municipal park that contains a large pond. And the pond was full of waterbirds in December of last year. I’ve observed that birds that hang out in urban parklands (in this case, California) become remarkably unafraid of humans (and especially so if they are fed). That was true of the birds here.
