Birding in Simi Valley, CA, Dec. 2014

Kathy was raised in Simi Valley, CA, and we visit her mother, Rainie, there often. I had seen some posts in Facebook Birders from Simi, and inquired of the author where he went to get his photos. On a recent visit (Dec. 2014), I made use of his information, and headed for Arroyo Simi, a small watercourse that runs along the bottom of the valley. What I found was that the creek and an adjacent pond were playing host to lots of waterbirds. Unfortunately, the creek had not recently (if ever) been cleaned up, which much detracted from its charm.
