High Water Nostalgia – Powerline Falls in the Taos Box, Rio Grande river, 1983

My last post discussed the very poor outlook for the water supply in the Rio Grande river, in this and coming years, and looked back at the early 1980s.

My son Ethan was guiding for New Wave Rafting Co. during those glory days. Here he is with a crew of New Wave guests, running an almost washed-out Powerline Falls. I estimate the river is running over 5000 cfs. in this photo.
