Remembering Fall Fishing on the Rio Grande

I was fishing blue-wing olive mayfly imitations right up until winter arrived. And that was not so long ago. Now my rod is put-away, and any further “fishing” activity this winter will probably consist only of tying flies (“tie-flying”, my mother used to call it, when I did that in place of doing homework). This photo was taken in Orilla Verde, formerly the “State Park”, and now a part of the new Rio Grande del Norte National Monument. I gotta say, I know of few other places I like as much as this stretch of the Rio Grande, both as scenery, pure and simple, and as a place to go fishing. I’m grateful!
