Views from the Hill

I know of no name for the hill that stands across the river and downstream of our place. It’s one of a few basalt-capped hills that have been thrust up by the Embudo Fault, with the Rio Grande running between, as it follows the fault. Kathy and I climbed the hill this afternoon. Here are some views from the top of the hill.

The Truchas Peaks are seen to the southeast. Hwy 68 is in the foreground.

View to the east, of the Rio Grande at La Bolsa (part of Embudo). Hwy 68 parallels the river.

Great views, Steve, making me miss the Rio Grande and the Pecos. Nice to see the mountains have some snow already!
