We are robots

We are robots

given to grandiose pretension

we suppose this

and suppose that

we assert this

and assert that

we strut here

and strut there

pathetic robots

given to grandiose pretension

We are robots

subject to serious dysfunction

needy, needy robots

needing tender, loving care

what’s sadder than

a wacked-out robot?

We are robots

knowing full well

that we are, each and everyone

destined for the scrap heap

and denying it

imagining that our maker

gives a shit
