Oh … yeah, there is one other problem

My last blog discussed the two big problems – 1. political repression and economic injustice and 2. the likelihood of environmental collapse. Part and parcel of both is the third problem – Western Civilization. Western Civilization is an economic system that is based on the non-sustainable use of resources. It is the biggest pyramid scheme of all, and cannot last. The collapse of Western Civilization is in progress, as the Western world now faces serious economic catastrophe. This unfolding catastrophe is the direct result of a degree of borrowing on the part of Western governments and citizens that exceeded the capacity to repay. So, this is what we have to look forward to – the political and economic collapse of our societies, along with the collapse of our environment. This state of collapse will not be accompanied by enhanced political freedoms, but rather the opposite. You think pepper spray is bad? Just wait.
